Union Hotel Cusco

This was a great stay in Cusco. The breakfast was beyond good - amazing spread, fresh juices, teas and lots of interesting Peruvian options too. Lots of activities at the hotel to try e.g. Weaving, tours to the market etc. Helpful staff. We could leave our luggage when we went on our hike. Lots of thoughtful gestures - hot water bottles and delicious treats on arrival.

We had a lovely time at the union hotel. We stayed 8 days. The hotel itself is very pretty, calm but lively! The central court is perfect to read a book and relax during the afternoon, or to have a drink in the evening with live music everyday! Our bedroom was perfect, the facilities are modern and clean. The staff was wonderful with us. Breakfast time was great, there are a lot of choices and freshly cooked dishes. We advise you to book the free activities, we tested them all and it made our trip very special. Special thank you to Veronica and Kiki!

The location was located conveniently close to the historic sites and we were able to walk there comfortably. The hotel's front desk and restaurant staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We inquired about a possibility of switching the rooms after the first night, and were moved to a room farther away from the hotel's main entrance.

I actually stayed here twice. Once upon my arrival in Cusco and again after completing the Inca Trail and my experiences were a little different. The room on my first stay was located near the back, so was somewhat quieter than my second stay. They provided me with welcome chocolates, some filtered water and brought hot water bottles to keep the bed warm at night. I did not receive any of those things upon my second stay however. My second room was at the front of the hotel (overlooking the street), so was not as quiet, but it was much larger and included a bathtub (I think I may have been placed in a suite). They have their own pet alpaca!!!!!! I was looking to buy some wine so I could take on the trail with me. Someone from the hotel restaurant talked to me about some of the different local Peruvian wines and told me where I could buy the wine (which was at the end of the street on the corner, where there is a full grocery store....very convenient!)

The staff were amazing! When we got back from Macchu Picchu we stayed a night before our flight the following day. The hotel kept our bags for us whilst we were in Macchu Picchu. As our train was late back, we messaged the hotel in advance asking if we could order dinner and this was no problem at all for the hotel! They sent me the menu and we chose what we wanted and it was ready for us on check in. The star of the hotel, though, is Kiki! He is lovely! We had photos with him and the staff allowed us to feed him strawberries and rose hips! We loved him! Thanks, Union hotel (and Kiki) for a wonderful stay.
